Pray for Your P-A-S-T-O-R
Here's another way to pray for your pastor - especially if you have trouble remembering what to pray about. Use the letters of the word, P-A-S-T-O-R to remind you of specific prayer requests. For example:
P - Purity. Pray that your pastor will remain pure in the face of constant pressure in an immoral culture.
목사님이 무질서한 / 음란한 / 부도덕한 세상 가운데서도 하나님의 종으로 깨끗함/ 순결함을 지킬 수 있도록.
A - Adversity. Pray for your pastor that he will be able to confront adversity with faith and endurance. (Hardship = Adversity)
어려운 일이 닥쳤을 때 오래참음과 믿음으로 ...힘들고 /어려운 일을 감당 하실 수 있도록
S - Strength. Most pastors work long hours and at least six days a week. Pray that he will have the strength to continue his ministry.
많은 목사님들이 일주일 내내 (6일) 오랜 시간을 일하십니다. 힘을 주셔서 계속적으로 하나님의 일을 하실 수 있도록
T - Teaching. Pray for your pastor that his teaching and preaching will be effective, powerful, and clear.
목사님이 가르치시고 설교하실 때 그 말씀이 강한 힘을 발휘하고 분명하게 전해져서 듣는 사람들에게 영향력을 발할 수 있도록
O - Organization. Your pastor has more to do than any one person can handle. Pray for your pastor that he will be able to prioritize correctly.
목사님 혼자 감당 할 수 없는 많은 일들을 하고 계신 목사님들에게 지혜를 주셔서 우선 순위를 잘 정해서 하실 수 있도록
R - Rest. Your pastor needs rest. Pray that your pastor will sleep well each night and that he will take enough time away from ministry so that he does not get worn out.
목사님들에게 휴식이 필요합니다. 과중한 일로 지치지 않고 ) 적절한 수면과 휴식 (교회 일에서 잠시 떠나)을 취하도록
Personal Needs
- Effective use of time. There are many tasks to accomplish during your pastor’s workday. Pray that he will use those hours in a way that will allow him to accomplish much. 맡겨진 사명을 잘 감당하기 위해서 시간 관리가 절대적으로 필요합니다. 시간을 잘 활용하셔서 해야 할 일들을 성취 할 수 있도록
- Strong relationship with his wife and children. 사모님/ 자녀들과의 친밀하고 튼튼한 관계를 위해서
- Time with family. Often church activities occur in the evenings or on weekends. Ask God to provide other times when your pastor can have quality time with his wife and children. 교회 많은 행사/일들이 저녁이나 주말에 이루어지기 때문에 가족과의 의미있는 시간을 보내기가 쉽지 않습니다. 가족이 함께 의미 있는 시간- quality time을 보낼 수 있는 때를 갖게 해 주시고
- Physical and mental strength. Pastors often work much more than a forty-hour week studying and preparing for speaking and counseling, being available to those who need advice or friendship, and attending church meetings and functions. It can be an exhausting life. 육체적 and 정신적인 강건함을 위해서 ...목사님들은 일 주일에 40시간 이상 공부하시고. 말씀 준비하시고, 상담하시고, 교회 모임에 참석하시고 교회가 돌아갈 수 있도록 살피십니다.
- Opportunities to relax. Ask God to give your pastor time away from the rigors of ministry to do things that he enjoys. 목사님들이 무거운 사역에서 잠시 ..나와 목사님이 즐겨하시는 일(enjoy)을 하며 휴식을 취할 수 있도록.
- Wisdom. We often think of this as a spiritual need, and it is. However, pastors have to make decisions for their own families for which they need guidance from God. 하나님의 지혜로 사역하게 하시고 또한 그 지혜로 하나님의 인도하심을 쫒아 가족의 대 소사를 결정할 수 있도록.
Spiritual Needs
- For Christ to live through him (Galatians 2:20) 예수님께서 목사님 삶 가운데 살아 움직이길 "내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 산 것이 아니요 오직 내 안에 그리스도께서 사신 것이라 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 나를 사랑하사 나를 위하여 자기 몸을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이라"
- Faithfulness to spend time reading God’s Word every day (Psalm 119:11) 매일 하나님 말씀을 읽는 일에 시간을 충실히 쓸 수 있도록. "내가 주께 범죄치 아니하려 하여 주의 말씀을 내 마음에 두었나이다"
- An intimate knowledge of God (Philippians 3:10) 친밀하게 /개인적으로 그의 삶에 일하시고 경험케 하시는 하나님을 전할 수 있게 하시고. 내가 그리스도와 그 부활의 권능과 그 고난에 참예함을 알려하여 그의 죽으심을 본받아/ As a result, I can really know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I can learn what it means to suffer with him, sharing in his death,
- Fear of God -- respect and awe for Him (Proverbs 1:7) 여호와를 경외하게 하시고. "여호와를 경외하는 것이 지식의 근본이어늘 미련한 자는 지혜와 훈계를 멸시하느니라"
- Strength to stand firm for the principles of God’s Word (Ephesians 6:10-11, 13) 영적으로 강건하여 하나님 말씀의 근본 원리/본질에 든든히 그리고 굳건히 설 수 있도록 "종말로 너희가 주 안에서와 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여지고.. 마귀의 궤계를 능히 대적하기 위하여 하나님의 전신갑주를 입으라.. 그러므로 하나님의 전신갑주를 취하라 이는 악한 날에 너희가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함이라"
- To live according to the Holy Spirit’s direction (Galatians 5:25) and worthy of his calling (Ephesians 4:1) as a good soldier of Christ (2 Timothy 2:3-4) 그리스도의 좋은 군사로, 하나님의 부르심에 합당한 자로, 성령이 이끄시는 대로 살수 있도록
- Accuracy as he presents the truths of Scripture (2 Timothy 2:15) 진리의 말씀을 전하실 때 정확히 확실히 전하실 수 있도록 "네가 진리의 말씀을 옳게 분변하며 부끄러울 것이 없는 일군으로 인정된 자로 자신을 하나님 앞에 드리기를 힘쓰라"
- Contentment in his present ministry (Philippians 4:11-13) 현재 하고 계신 일(사역/ministry> 에 만족함을 느끼실 수 있도록 "내가 궁핍하므로 말하는 것이 아니라 어떠한 형편에든지 내가 자족하기를 배웠노니 내가 비천에 처할 줄도 알고 풍부에 처할 줄도 알아 모든 일에 배부르며 배고픔과 풍부와 궁핍에도 일체의 비결을 배웠노라"
내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라
