What DID Jesus Do?

A popular saying has been "What Would Jesus Do?"  We have seen "WWJD?" on bumper stickers, t-shirts, bracelets and billboards.  However, an even more relevant question is "What DID Jesus Do?"   Below is a look at what Jesus actually did, and the implications that these actions have on making disciples. The Great Commission: As Simple As the ABC's Jesus showed us how to make disciples. Then Jesus commanded us to “make disciples.” We should make disciples like Jesus did! Four Components to Jesus' Personal Discipleship There are at least four major components to what Jesus did when He was showing us how to make disciples. He did not just command us to disciple. In addition to the command, He paved the way in showing His followers how to make disciples themselves. Parents, grandparents and pastors who want similar fruit to what Jesus produced will follow His example.  Below are some of the implications of following the examples demonstrated by Jesus. Here are the Four Components and their implications for families. 1)    Jesus Told His Disciples to Follow Him, While He Showed Them How to Follow God. Jesus did not tell His disciples to follow other teachers; He warned against "false teachers" and rejected teachers of questionable beliefs. Paul followed the example of Jesus as he instructed believers to follow him; 1 Corinthians 11:1  "Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ." Parents who disciple like Jesus will tell their children to follow them, and will be very careful of who or what they allow to teach or influence their children.  Modern day "Teachers" can include both people, peers and media. Media includes influences such as curriculums, books, television, music, movies, gaming, internet, etc. 2)    Jesus Was With His Disciples For the Majority of Most Days. Jesus was not merely with His disciples in His spare time. Mark 3:14 says "Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,..." The idea of "Quality Time" is one of the great lies of our times; our "microwave" approach to discipleship is not working. Like Jesus, parents who disciple like Jesus will sacrifice time, careers, hobbies, prestige, money, entertainment and possessions in order to be with their children. "Quantity Time" is what it takes to build deep relationships. 3)    Jesus Frequently Taught His Disciples Scripture and Showed Them How to Minister to Others. Jesus practiced Deuteronomy 6:7 but took it to a new level; 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." He frequently taught His disciples scripture each day and showed them how to live.  Parents who disciple like Jesus will constantly look for opportunities to pray, to read scripture, to sing hymns and spiritual songs, to talk about the goodness of the Lord, and to show their children how to live through ministry to others. 4)    Jesus Protected His Disciples From the Wolves. When Jesus sent His disciples out; He didn't send them out until they were fully trained. Even then He did not send them out alone, and they were grown men! He sent them out with other mature Christians because there were "wolves" in the world. Jesus was aware of the wolves and He protected His disciples. Luke 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. ...3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves." Unfortunately, today there are many more "wolves" that would love to steal, kill and destroy our children. Parents who want to disciple like Jesus will never send their children into the world alone; like Jesus they will only allow their children to go out with trusted Christian adults. Wise parents will make themselves aware of the "wolves" that threaten their children and will take measures to protect them. Consider Jesus as the Shepherd in the 23rd Psalm, vs 8 "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.." Let us be with our little lambs when they are in the dangerous world in which we live. Two Training Approaches Jesus' Training Approach World's Training Approach Follow Me only, a trustworthy Teacher Follow many teachers of questionable values With disciples all day With disciples in spare time Constantly teach bible, demonstrate how to live, glorify God (80+ hours) Constantly teach non-biblical information, (bible less than 5 hours) Send out adult disciples in twos Send out child disciples alone Priorities and Results: Two Approaches Jesus' Training Approach World's Training Approach Goal- Make disciples: followers of Christ Goal- Well educated adult, respected job, affluence, popularity Goal- A few deep relationships Goal- Many superficial relationships Results- Lasting eternal impact Results- Temporary self gratification Results- 92% stay in church Results- 6% to 25% stay in church What is more important; success or abundant life?

꿈 꾸는 분을 위해 - 내 방법 vs 그 분 방법

하나님께서 하나님의 기쁘신 뜻을 위해서... 우리에게 하고 싶은 마음과 용기, 이루고 싶은 일, 꿈을 주십니다:  "너희안에 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니. 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여. 너희로 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니. for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose/ pleasure. (빌립보서 2:13)"... 그리고 그 기쁘신 뜻은... 우리 자신을 낮추어 (복종하여) 하나님을 영광스럽게 하는 방법으로 이루어져야 할 것입니다.

우리 모두에게 각기 꿈이 있듯이 ... 저에게도 꿈이 있습니다. 

1. 회복의 통로를 향해:  넘어지고/ 쓰러지고/ 불행하며/ 불평과 불만 가득하며/ 비관적이고/ 의미 없이 세상 속에서 바쁘게 움직이며/ 허망한 대화로 하루를 채우고/  피해 의식 또는 자만심으로 병들고 찌들어 있는 어머니들이 회복하고, 참 자유! 참 사랑! 참 진리!를 깨달아 알아.... 주님으로 인한 행복을 회복하는 것. 사탄의 꾀/거짓에 속아 넘어가지 않도록 말씀으로 무장하고 깨어 있게 실천/기도하는 것...

2. 가정을 향해: 내 자식, 내 남편, 내 소유를 위해서 기도하기에  (아이가 감기 걸렸을 때... 좋은 학교에 가기 위해서...좋은 성적을 거두기 위하여..좋은 친구/책/멘토를 만나기 위해....... 다른 아이들보다 더 나은 대우를 받기 위해서... 꼬리가 되지 않고 머리가 되기 위해서.... 남편의 건강과 ...좋은 직장과... 안정된 소득을 위해서.. 좋은 집과 좋은 학군을 위해서...더 많은 이익을 위해서...축복 받기 위해서... 복을 누리기 위해서 ) 멈.추.지. 말고... 미래의 하나님의 군사를 준비 시키는 마음으로 자녀를 양육하고 훈련하며, 작은 가족 교회가 회복되고 제사장들이 자신의 본분을 깨달아 알아 맡은 임무를 충실히 행 할 수 있도록 마땅히 돕는 아내들이 될 수 있도록 스스로 구비하는 우리가 될 수 있도록 준비/실행하고 함께 기도하는 것. 

3. 세상을 향해: 세상의 모든 학교/배움터에서 하나님의 말씀이 자유롭게 선포되며/ 교장과 선생님 그리고 모든 교직원들이 기독교적인 가치관을 가지고 아이들을 지도하며/  아이들이 많은 시간을 보내야 하는 학교가 사랑과 용서가 넘치는  곳이 되며/ 선생님과 아이들 & 아이들과 아이들이 자유롭게 기도 할 수 있는 곳 ..주의 이름이 자유롭게 불리워 질 수 있는 곳이 될 수 있도록 세상의 모든 어머니들이 힘을 합쳐 함께 기도 하는 것. 물이 바다를 덮는 것 같이 어머니들의 기도가 세상을 덮는 것 

처음.... 하나님께서 이 일을 기뻐 하실꺼란 막연한 기쁨으로 가슴이 설레였습니다..
주님의 나라를 위해 기도 하는 것... 그것을 위해 사용되어 진다는 것 아름답고 멋지잖아요??
어리버리한 내가 이런일을 조직하고 진행시킬 수 있을까? 하며... 부들 부들 떨며 ...
프.로.그.램을 생각 해 내기 시작 했습니다....
무엇을 어떻게 시작 해야 할까?
무슨 요일? 어디서? 누구와 만나야 할까?
누가 찬양을 하고 누가 기도를 이끌어 주어야 할까? 누가 가르칠 수 있을까?
나의 작은 머리에서 나오는 계획들로 노트를 열심히 채웠습니다....
그리고 지금 현재 활발히 열심히 열정적으로 사역하고 있는 여성리더들을 나의 미래 모습으로 꿈꾸었습니다. w~o~w 참 멋지지요?  (여기서 드러나는 나의 역력한 sinful nature 죄성.. 유명세를 꿈꾸는 거겠죠? 멋진 자기 실현을 보고싶은거겠죠? 하나님을 핑계 삼아 나를 드러내고 싶었던 거겠죠?) 그 당시에는 몰랐습니다.. 내가 이렇게 죄인 인 줄.... 내 생각이 주님 생각과 내 방법과 주님의 방법이어떻게 다른지...  잘 몰랐습니다... 

소극적인 저는....... 소극적인 자세로 무엇인가 시작하려 노력을 해 봤습니다...
소극적인 자세로... 남편의 동의도  얻어내려 해 봤구요...
소극적인 자세로 ...목사님과 홀리 하신 분들의 인증도 받아보려 했구요...
소극적인 자세로... 각종 모임에 대해 조사도 해보고 가 보기도 해 봤구요...
소극적인 자세로... 여러 사람들을 만나보고 전화하고 편지도 해 봤구요...
소극적인 자세로 .. 어디 실려 함께 갈 곳이 없나도 두리번거려 봤구요...
소극적인 자세로... 이것이 정말 하나님께서 내게 주신 꿈이란걸 approve해 보려고 했구요...

적극적인 자세로.. " 하나님일이니까.. 빨리... 이렇게 저렇게 좀 해 주세요" 기도 했구요...
적극적인 자세로 ... 말씀/성경에 파고 들기 시작했습니다. 읽고, 묵상하고, 기도하고, 듣고, 쓰고

그리고

적극적인 자세로 ... 하나님께서 보여주시는 나를 보기 시작했습니다...
하나님의 계획에 내 생각을 밀어 넣는 내가 보이기 시작했습니다.
나를 만지시는 하나님의 손길을  느낄 수 있게 되었습니다.

일년 9개월이 지났습니다...
모든 일을 원망과 시비가 없이 하라 (빌립보서 2:14) 아주!! clear하게 들립니다. 
다시 돌아 보며... 하나님께서 제게 하신 말씀들을 돌아 봅니다...

하나님의 일은... 하나님의 방식으로....하나님의 때에... 하나님께서 하십니다...

제 마음에 씨앗이 심겨 졌습니다....
싹이 나고... 꽃이 피고.... 바람과 추위를 견디며...
튼튼히 자라게 하실겁니다...

크리스마스 장식의 의미

크리스마스 나무의 초록색: 계절의 변화와 상관없이 .. 영원히 변치 않으시는 하나님의 사랑과,  약속한 것을 분명히 지키시는 언제나 동일하신 하나님을 의미합니다. 하늘로 향한 뾰족한 가시들은 하늘로 향해야 하는 우리들의 생각을 의미합니다
Pure green color of the stately fir tree remains green all year round, depicting the everlasting hope of mankind, all the needles point heavenward, making it a symbol of man's thoughts turning toward heaven.

크리스마스 트리 꼭대기 별:  하나님께서 이 세상에 우리에게 구원자를 보내 주시기로 약속하시고 그 약속을 지키신 것을 의미합니다. 또한 그 별을 보고 세사람의 동방박사가 찾아 온 것 처럼, 우리의 소망되신 예수님의 발자취를 쫒아 우리도 그 분의 장성한 분량까지 자라야 합니다.  
God promised the World a Savior, who would come and set humanity free. The star on the tree represents God's fulfillment of the promise He made ages ago. It also represents the shining hope of mankind that first shone in Bethlehem, leading the three wise kings to the manger.

올나먼크 볼: 유리로 만든 동그란 볼들은 우주를 상징합니다. 세상 모든 만물들이 인간으로 오신 하나님, 예수님, 의 증인입니다. 아름답게 반짝이는 그 볼은 나무에 달려 있지 않고 떨어지면 아~작! 부서집니다. 우리가 그렇게 예수님께 달려 있어야 하는 겁니다. 달려 있을 때 아름다울 수 있습니다.

The decorative balls represented the planets of the universe. The tree and its ornaments are believed to witness to the Incarnation, what happened centuries ago.

촛불:  예수님께서 빛으로 세상에 오신 것처럼 우리도 세상의 빛입니다. 어두울 때! 빛이 필요한 것이고 어두움을 밝게 바꿀 수 있는 건 오로지! 빛입니다.
Candle: symbolizes that Christ is the light of the world, and when we see this great light we are reminded of He who displaces the darkness."

벨 장식: 길을 잃은 양들은 목자의 목소리와 벨소리를 듣고 그 소리를 따라 주인을 찾습니다. 늘 말씀에 귀기울이고 묵상하며 말씀 가운데 있어야, 보호 받고 이끌림 받기가 좋습니다. Bell: Lost sheep are found by the sound of the bell, it should ring mankind to the fold. The bell symbolizes guidance and return.

지팡이 사탕: 목자들이 한손에는 막대기 & 한손에는 지팡이를 들고 다니며 사나운 짐승으로 부터 양들을 지켜 주고, 잘못 향하여 엄한대로 가는 양을 끌어 보호 해 주는데 사용합니다. 

Candy cane: represents the shepherds' crook. The crook on the staff helps to bring back strayed sheep to the flock. The candy cane is the symbol that we are our brother's keeper." 

빨간 꽃나무: 홀리 플랜트는 영원한 생명을 의미합니다. 포인쎄티아를 보며 예수님이 쓰셨던 가시면류관과 흘리신 피를 생각합시다.  

Holly plant: represents immortality. It represents the crown of thorns worn by our Savior. The red holly berries represent the blood shed by Him.

선물: 우리를 너무 너무 사랑하시는 하나님, 죄인인 우리를 하나님과 하나되게 하시기 위해 아들을 완전히 내어 주셨습니다. 찢기고, 모욕당하고, 수치당하고, 고통 당하고, 수난 당하고, 예수님께서 우리 대신 재판받으시고 , 모든 추악하고 더럽고 냄새나는 모든 것들을 참으시고 대신 죽어 주셨습니다. 그렇게 우리에게 내어 주신 거저!! 선물이십니다. 

Gift: God so loved the world that he gave his begotten son." Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

동그란 트리장식: 웨레스는 동그핳게, 계속적인, 끊나지 않는, 지속적인 사랑의 표현을 의미합니다. 시작도 끝도 없는 네버엔딩 사랑입니다.  그 분의 그 신실하신 사랑이 날마다 ..아침마다 ...우리를 날마다 새롭게 하십니다. 

Wreath: symbolizes the real nature of love. Real love never ceases. Love is one continuous round of affection."
