9월20일 부터 시작되는 기도

작년 9월 28일 176명의 개신교 복음주의, 정교회, 가톨릭 지도자들은 맨해튼 선언문(Manhattan Declaration)을 발표했습니다. 

첫째, “인간 생명의 신성함”(The Sanctity of Human Life),

둘째, “남편과 아내로 이뤄진 부부간 연합으로서의 결혼의 존엄성”(The Dignity of Marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife),

셋째, “양심과 종교 자유에 관한 권리”(The Rights of Conscience and Religious liberty)에 관한 내용입니다.

이 세가지는 인간의 존엄성과 사회의 안녕을 유지하는데 필수적이기 때문에 신성불가침이며 타협이 불가능하며, 이 가치들이 우리 문화 가운데 점점 더 공격받고 있기 때문에 이것들을 수호하기 위해 강력한 목소리를 내지 않을 수 없게 되었습니다.

또 우리 개인이나 우리가 이끄는 단체에 이 가치들을 저버리거나 타협하라는 어떠한 압력이 들어온다 할지라도 계속적으로 이것들을 존중하는데 헌신하지 않을 수 없다고 결의했습니다. 

이 선언문을 발표하는 목적은 어떤 정치적 단체의 지지자로서가 아니라 십자가에 달리고 부활하셨으며 길이요, 진리요, 생명이신 예수 그리스도의 제자로서이며
“우리는 낙태시술, 배아를 파괴하는 연구, 자살보조, 안락사, 또는 다른 반생명적인 행위에 우리가 지도하는 단체가 참여하도록 꾀하는 법령에 순응하지 않을 것”이며 “더 나아가서, 비도덕적인 성적 파트너십을 축복하거나 그것을 결혼이나 그 동등한 것으로 취급하도록 하거나, 도덕, 부도덕, 결혼, 가족 등에 대해 우리가 알고 있는 진리를 선포하는 것을 막고자 꾀하는 규정에 굽히지 않을 것"라고 결의했습니다.
”Because we honor justice and the common good, we will not comply with any edict that purports to compel our institutions to participate in abortions, embryo-destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnerships, treat them as marriages or the equivalent, or refrain from proclaiming the truth, as we know it, about morality and immorality and marriage and the family.


일년이 지난 지금, 이 권리를 위해 9월20일 부터 10월30일까지 40일간 금식으로 미국을 위해서 기도합니다. 우리를 공격하는 악한 세력으로 부터 우리 크리스챤이 적극적으로 싸워야 할 때 입니다. 하나님께서 만드신 결혼 제도와,종교의 자유와, 인간 존엄성을 지켜내기 위해, 우리의 가치관을 재 정립할 때 입니다. 
Christians across America are being called upon to unite in prayer and fasting for the nation from Sept. 20 to Oct. 30 as America faces “unprecedented challenges.” “We call on all faithful Christians to join us in the fight to defend life, protect and revitalize marriage, and preserve religious liberty and the rights of conscience,”
우리가 상당한 영향을 받고 있는데 우리 사회 문화를 위해 열심을 다해 기도 해야합니다.

크리스챤 가치관이 가정, 교회, 정계, 헌법, 군력, 비지니스, 테크놀로지, 교육, 미디어, 예술과 엔터테인먼트 그리고 프로페셔널 운동경기에서도 살아 나야 합니다.

We must work tirelessly in all the ‘seven spheres of cultural influence,’” he adds, referring to the home; the church; civil government, law, and military; business and technology; education; media; and arts, entertainment and professional sports.
이 세대의 세상의 문화가 변화를 받아 새롭게 다시 살아 나야 합니다.
